What the Cool Kids are Wearing: Back To School Fashion

Let’s face it, we all fall out of the fashion loop over the summer—your kids probably didn’t even change out of pajamas some days. But now it’s time for some back to school fashion, and the trends wait for no one. Start the first day of school with a new outfit that makes your kid feel great! Pick out last years clothes that still fit and pair them with trendy vests and hoodies. The big word this fall is layering. Here’s a little intel on the fashion looks for fall.

Color

Each back to school fashion and fall season a palette of colors are selected for both clothing and home. This fall season the focus is on the color blue, Riverside is the name of the color. Blue is a very calming color and a great choice for the first day of school. Earth tones are also featured this season, clay, taupe, cedar and mustard. And just to add a little more fun you will find a splash of vibrant color, royal purples, rich garnets and magenta.

Animal Prints

This season you will find animal prints on everything from t-shirts to leggings and even backpacks. T-shirts are the big staple for boys and girls and the trendy look is always to layer. Add a vest or sweater and your kid will be good to go.

Yep! I said plaids. You don’t have to be Scottish to love a great plaid. Plaids are always a great staple for any wardrobe and you will see even more plaids for the holidays.

Knits

So here’ the knitty gritty for this fall. Cozy knit dresses and sweaters paired with colorful knit leggings is the biggest new fashion statement this fall. Boden has a great selection of knitwear I know you will love.

Shoes

It is traditional to start the school year with a new pair of shoes. I must admit this is my personal weakness. Check out my board on Pinterst for the most adorable shoes you will ever. Speaking from a teacher point of view please pick out sensible closed toed shoes for your preschooler. We wouldn’t want those cute tootsies to get hurt on the playground.
